I've been in New York now for about a week and a half, after a week in Cancun (during which I did, in fact, sleep and eat at normal-person hours). Cancun was so nice; it's been a long time since I've actually gone swimming at the beach, since for some reason I didn't go the last time I was at Hawaii. Definitely going back next year!
But still, this summer is going to be such a foodfest... New York and China too. (Rachel and I went to Grimaldi's this weekend .... it was pretty awesome.) I found this place called the Dumpling Man in East Village... it actually smells like my house does when we're making dumplings <3. Dunno if I ever mentioned this at school, but I have a serious vinegar obsession... and they're one of the few places I've been to that puts rice vinegar on the table. Actual rice vinegar! (Balsamic vinegar is... unappetizing :P)
Other than that, I started work, which has been great :). As compensation for sitting around in front of a computer during the week, though, I decided on getting some exercise on the weekend... the result was a 8-mile walk from Columbia to Chinatown, stemming from a search for some restaurant I found at the top of a "Best Chinese Restaurants in New York List."
Dunno if any of you say this article, but there are so many things in here which infuriate me... (more about the reporting than about the situation, necessarily) http://www.nytimes.com/2012/
